Waiting for the sun to rise
Yesterday morning, I decided to go to Montmartre for a change. It’s a place I don’t go to that often, especially since it is a bit far from my place, and it takes approximately 45 minutes for me to go there by subway. Now that the sun rises at about 6:30 a.m., I need to wake up at 5 a.m. to be there on time. Sometimes, having a passion is also about little sacrifices.
Unfortunately, I arrived a bit late at Montmartre. At 6:15 a.m., the sky had already started to burst into a thousand vibrant colours, and I had to run up the hill with my camera and my tripod on my back in order to catch this ephemeral sight.
As always, though, Montmartre has proved to be an exceptional place when it comes to taking pictures. Of course, there is no river, so no reflection to take into picture, but the sceneries from the top of Montmartre hill are just grandiose. Up there, a simple street light – with the entire city of Paris lying in the background – becomes a wonderful image to catch and share.
It’s definitely good to go to unusual places for a change !
